I am an older person and have LIVED in your perfect fit bootcut pants for Many, many years. I have several almost new pairs, several used pairs that I wear at the gym and those that are almost worn out I save for gardening. They are the best pants ever, until now! I just ordered two more pairs in my normal large petite size onoy to have to return them because the fit Has changes and the length is not onlyo 1 3/4 inches longer but also wider at the bottom of the pants. I am WILDLY DISAPPOINTED and hope that this is simply a small glitch in your manufacturers cutting. The Pants are advertised as having a 27 inch inseam, when it reality it is 28 3/4 inches, making them too long unless I hem them. I hope you will take this comment seriously. I LIVE for Beans and dress In your Pima Cotton t-shirts daily, year 'round, but now I'm not sure what to do about pants. Listen to a dedicated consumer. Thank you, Rebecca Ellis
Items that used to be high quality are now more like Walmart goods. The costly sheets I ordered, after less than half a year, resemble ones in my closet that are 25 years old. The return of said sheets has taken over a month so far. My money is tied up until the long-awaited refund comes through. It is indeed an unnecessary long wait. After all, when you purchase, they take your money IMMEDIATELY. Very poor service when it takes over a month to get that money back due to a faulty product.
I purchased Waterproof 650 Down Gloves for cold-weather hiking. Some of the reviews said the gloves didn't keep hands warm, and I should have paid attention. These gloves are okay at 50 degrees but if the air temperature is any lower, my hands got very cold within about two minutes of being outside. I'm very disappointed and am returning the gloves.
Tip for consumers:
A lot of fuss and trouble just to post a review to keep other people from buying a product that is not as described, and therefore inadequate for the needs of anyone going outside in cold weather.

I have been ordering through LLBean catalogs for years and when digital became more popular I switched to ordering directly from their website. I would recommend it. While I could more than likely purchase their items from a local vender in my area I'd rather just buy it from them and get what I want. With the stores almost always being out of my size I just go online now. I've never had an issue with returns, orders or customer service.
When I buy jackets locally I don't like that I have to buy my winter parkas in Sep/Oct, my spring jackets in Dec/Jan and my summer clothing in Feb/Mar. I just go online now when I need jackets. I can't always wait until the season they have what I need in stock. Clothing wears out and only lasts 2-4 years before needing replacement. I'm active so I try to replace them every couple of years or they get stinky. Washing doesn't even remove it all. I have found LLBean's prices to be average if you buy it locally or online. Returns are easy and you can generally just drop it off at a shipping center.
Sent back slippers for exchange. The size estimator on the site was way off. LLBean received the return today but told me they will get around to it in 4 -5 weeks. My options- none. I can write return to sender on the box when the replacement comes.
I won't be buying from them again.
Tip for consumers:
Don't buy from them unless you are willing to wait 4 to 5 weeks on an exchange

I am an older woman who has lived in and loved your clothes for many decades. They are very well-made, comfortable to wear, and hold up well over the years. Your moccasins and slippers are some of my favorites due to their exceptional comfort and construction and I am never disappointed. However, I find that the leather ties on the front of the shoes and slippers are not well secured and frequently become untied. This has caused me to trip and fall on several occasions and sustaining minor injuries only. I respectfully am suggesting that you find a way to secure these ties to avoid serious injury to your elder customers. Recently while shopping in your Voorhees NJ store for new slippers and shoes, I met another older couple who expressed exactly the same concern. This woman stated that she had fallen over the loose undone ties in her slippers. I will not be purchasing any further slippers or moccasins until this problem is acknowledged and properly addressed. These are a real safety hazard to your customers. Please find a way to encourage me to stay with LL Bean. Until then, I am buying my shoes and slippers from My Pillowo websites.
Thank you.

Just got off a chat with LL Bean's customer service about some boots of theirs that are only five years old and are starting to fall apart and was told they "are not repairable." Great. Bean used to stand by their products, but apparently no more. So sad, another reputable company gone down the drain. Guess I'll have to find another brand...

I have provide the sales slip information for the two pairs of pants I mention in my review. They were purchased through the order dept. at your Burlington, Ma L.L.Bean store January 13, 2023, order number *******58065000 and were shipped to me using UPS tracking number
1Z 4E 866 90 4582 1192 and I returned them to Burlington today, 1/23/23
(customer number *******2166 for a credit of 79.63. I don't know how to copy the sales slip onto this computer.
Not happy. Reaching out to everyone sounding a warning! The website is terrible, not user friendly.
All I wanted was to return an item of clothing. The employee crap I delt with trying to get item numbers, questioning erroneous charges after they received the return. I just don't understand how these places survive when they treat customers terrible. Don't sign up for the card to get a clothing discount, and take your money somewhere they appreciate you and want to help. This company isn't it!
Tip for consumers:
I would avoid any business with LL bean, period.

The water hog mats are great. They are easy to vacuum and to hose off with water. If you have pets or you have dust and grit where you live, these are great. I love that the water hog mats are made in USA. I have them in the bath and entrance ways and in the laundry room. For once my house here in the desert is no longer full of grit and dust. Customer service on the phone is great at LL Bean!
LLBean used to be a great company. Within the last few years their prices have gone up, they don't offer free shipping and they changed their great return policy that attracted many of their customers. Maybe that new CEO from Walmart is the problem but the company has done nothing but gone down hill. Even their customer service sucks. Plenty of other companies that are better and don't copy other brands' products!
Tip for consumers:
Don't. Cheap quality, higher prices. Better products elsewhere.
I bought 2 medium men shirts, both M regular, traditional fit but one is 3 inches longer than the other one! What are they doing?! Don't they have any standards anymore?! They ruined the sizes
LL Bean makes very poor quality duck boots. Wore them for 3 months and the seams already ripped and the tread on the bottom were gone. Went to send them back and they said they were not replacing them due to "accessive wear on them". They don't stand behind their product and if I were you, I would never buy their cheap and garbage products.

They once prided themselves on their superior customer service and trust me it showed. Having been a customer for many years I can attest first hand that what impressed me about this company was the fact that from the time they answered the phone they knew all your information, actively listened to your concerns, and resolved your issues to great satisfaction.
I recently returned an item and received confirmation via UPS tracking that they have had it for over a week. In this case I filled out their return slip and requested an exchange (XL too large). Their website not only doesn't show the return or replacement item pending but when I called a lady I spoke with cut me off in mid-sentence and stated it might take another week or so to show up and to wait for my refund. When I explained I wanted an exchange she quickly stated to check back in another week and it might show up then. I get the fact that it may be a busy time of year with the holidays coming around but being cut off quickly like that and given the vague check back in a week or so is not exactly the best way to handle a customer inquiry imho. That said, I do enjoy the quality of their clothing so I will be a loyal customer. However, the customer service could use an upgrade. It's not what it used to be.

I returned a pair of boots to them because they do not fit, and have been waiting for my refund of $154. I called customer service and told that it takes 4-5 weeks to process a refund? I think that is a little long to hold onto someone's $$$$ and maybe needs a review by the attorney Gen or maybe the help of Channel 7 consumer help line.
At 5:23 a.m. Nov. 18th I ordered snow boots for my wife. She saw the confirmation email at 6:30 a.m. and brought to my attention that the boots were the wrong size. At 7:05 I contacted the company and told them I needed to change the size. They told me it was too late to change the order and the boots will be delivered on November 30th. When they arrive I`ll have to send them back at their expense and they`ll send me the proper size boots, again at their expense. It`s inexcusable that they couldn`t change the order 90 minutes after receiving it. We had better IT in the steel mill in the 1970s. The package wasn`t being shipped for at least another 10 days and they couldn`t change the order. Unbelievable!
I have worn size 10 for over 40 years. I just bought a pair of shoes on line last month. Perfect fit.
These boots are super cute to look at, BUT, the size 10 was at least 1/2- 1 whole size too short for my foot.
I also was barefoot when I tried them on, so definitely no sock room available, and they are so uncomfortable. The seams were itchy and painful on my feet and ankles. You've been warned.

Ordering from LL Bean is painless because the merchandise is usually well-made, it arrives quickly, and the customer service is fantastic. I've ordered from them for years, and, when I lived on the East coast, shopped at their store many, many times. Every time I have spoken to customer service, I'm dealing with an American, and I appreciate that fact. A solid, old-fashioned, American-style store. Nice.
I don't know who love the bean boots more this old girl or her mom! This is my dog's go to spot in the garage!
When LL Bean runs any type of site wide promotion they do not honor their military/ first responder/ front line health care worker discount, but claim to honor their service. This company is a capitalist company who clearly has little to no respect for the people serving this country on the front lines. Go shop Patagonia!
Your company has been in business forever for one reason, consistency. When you want something that fits the same way, looks the same way and comes in a high quality cotton, wool, down, rubber, felt, flannel etc you go to LL Bean. I have been less than thrilled with the styling and feel of many items I have ordered the last 6 or 7 years. I ordered about 13 flannel shirts in various styles. Was not wild about the prints they came in, but thought maybe they will be better in person, all but 1 went back. They were all these strange
Wide weaves, and not in traditional plaids prints and traditional plaid colors. I want a 50's -70s' looking flannel shirt and old New England Yankee styling. They could have used the styles in their mid 80's cataloque and I would have been pleased as punch. I don't want innovation from them. The new stuff looks like it was made by Coldwater Creek, the Sundance Company, or Chicos, not LL Bean
The children's uniform pants, shirts, socks and skirts I bough a few years ago just did not have the quality stitching and fabric I expect from them the socks felt like plastic socks, not like buttery cotton. Dear Lord, were the flannel and 100 percale sheets a disappointment and the towels as well. Only the sheep skin slippers were up to their old selves.
So my suggestion to there buyers and designers would be to not rethink it, stick to boxy v neck or boy friend tee, old school flannel coats and down jackets, a rain slicker that looks like it came off a Nantucket pier in 1975, and more Nantucket Vines classic preppy style. Things like the moccasins your Mom wore during the summers in the 60's -80's, or flannel shirt you wore to a concert in the 80's or 90's.
I might tweak the home collection, and bring it more towards shaker rather than Stickley or William Morris Aesthetic Movement stuff, people are more into School House Electric, or Serena & Lilly now. A bit of classic American colonial or modern cleaner lines would be good.
So bring the clothing back to classic prep and the home furnishing more modern or more classically American traditional. Bold colors, nice student lamps enamel, nice Ralph Lauren looking bedding.
I have never liked their customer service department much and always swayed towards shopping more with Land End and the Bass Pro shop as they are great over there. Their whole policy and how anal they are in negotiate things and lack of apology, always makes me feel like I am dealing with a stuck up, over educated judgmental nerd who thinks he is brighter than you, and that you should be thanking him for allowing you to shop at his store. The store employees are very sweet.
I ordered a set of sheets from LL Bean. The item came in an unsealed bag. It was meant to be a gift so I wanted it to be right. I contacted customer service and they responded, essentially saying that they did not care whatsoever. The experience left such a sour taste in my mouth. I will spend my money elsewhere next time. I tried to post this on their website to help other potential buyers however LL Bean refused to post my review.

I would have stayed away from this company had I known their complete lack of willingness to take ownership of the quality of their products and packaging and delivery.

No company does this any more. I forgot why I did not return the first item that did not fit well a few years ago. The pants I just bought fit, but are so uncomfortable there is no way I can wear them. Now I have to pay to return them. Last time I order for me.
Tip for consumers:
Make sure you do not need to return.

I ordered my husband some jeans for Christmas 2022. They were a little too tight so I went ahead and returned them on December 26th. UPS informed me they arrived at LL Bean on the 29th. Today is January 10th and when I checked with their customer service department, I was told that it may be a few more weeks till they process my return. They are only processing returns from December 22nd as of today. So by the time I get my refund (if I ever will) it could be several more weeks. Through the years I have purchased lots of items for my husband from Bean, but after this I am done! So disappointed in their customer service. BTW, I had already re-ordered the next size up the very day I returned the first pair. The agent I talked to on the phone was very kind, and I realize it's not her fault. So I told her to please tell management about this conversation.
She said she would.

Items we purchased at Christmas and throughout the year are great - exactly what we need in fit and style. Slippers, quilts, bedding, etc. No complaints. And as for the people who think it is incredibly intelligent to ban or bash a company because of one person who supports someone you don't like, you are trying to harm thousands of employees that this company employs. Supporting a successful US company is what is important to keep the jobs here. Sort of like bullying - oh yes, what you all say our new President does. Hello pot - I'm kettle...
After ordering once, and waiting forever for very mediocre merchandise I made the terrible mistake of trying to order TWO ITEMS. IHAD TO SPEAK TO SIX PEOPLE, THEY MADE MULTIPLE MISTAKES OVER SIX HOURS. They were all really terrible people in addition to being totally incompetent! Horrible! They can't read the notes put on account and overcharged me. I tried to cancel the order and they weren't able to do that. ONLINE DIDN'T WORK AND EVERY PERSON WAS RUDE. HAS BECOME HORRIBLE COMPANY! BEWARE!
