“HINGE is 100% SCAM AND TIME WASTER”

Glen F.
6/22/21

After Hinge banned me I found AdultsFlirt.com which is 100 times better than Hinge. The women are absolutely different there. It's really hard to engage in a conflict with anyone. The ladies are polite and understanding. If you don't trade nudes right away and don't write rude letters - you gonna be fine there! I've had one date through this platform so far and the woman was stunning. As for Hinge, I haven't had any dates. The level of censorship is unbelievably high on Hinge which by the way doesn't deter con artists from signing up and finding their victims. The majority of the women aren't attractive, and those who are cute and "sweet" turn out to be scammers. There are a lot of bitter users who report you if you reject them. As a result your profile gets banned.

“They without profiles and make you pay more”

Christy H.
8/25/22

I unfortunately paid for the subscription once i realized you can't really do much on it until you pay. Then i found out that they pull certain profiles that are you "best matches" and you have to pay MORE to get a "rose" in order to let those people know you are interested. It's the definition of a SCAM. It's not "meant to be deleted" or they would give you a fair shot at seeing all your matches once you pay them too much in the first place!

Tip for consumers:
Just don’t subscribe to it unless you plan on paying an additional $30-$75 in order to be able to “like” the profiles that are your best matches.

After 2 days of messages sent to profiles my account was banned with no explanation, they collected 3 months fee and have refused to refund as they say I have breached the agreement but will not tell me what term I have breached. I had no contact with anyone on this site. Its a scam stay away you have been warned.

Tip for consumers:
Don’t go there, check independent reviews, try free access for at least one week before spending your hard earned cash. Beware your account will be banned for unexplained reason

Don't use Hinge! Full of foreign scammers with fake pics. Problem with Hinge it doesn't post where your phone is, you can say you are from anywhere and no way to prove it. I was on the website for a week and busted like 4 scammers all in a row, its terrible! Dont waste your time, you have no idea who you are talking to... dead givaway, they write in broken English and incomplete sentences!

The worst experience ever. I can't believe the amount of obviously FAKE and DEAD profiles of men. It starts you off with super good looking, polished men firing at you with "Hellos" and incessant texting. After about 2 weeks, all of that stops! Only weird, ugly, unattractive, blurry, unsophisticated types of men.The moment you suggest communicating off of the app, or if a guys asks what you're looking for (seriously?) you tell him a possibly wonderful relationship, he immediately deletes you from his list. It's hilarious! Hinge is riding the wave of "Gambling" apps. They get you hooked, then make you feel compelled to buy a Boost as they control how often your profile is being seen and of course, they're filtering in only horrible profiles of bad matches that has NOTHING to do with your preferences or entirely fake and dead profiles. It's pure BS! They should go out of business. Put an end to this horrible treatment of humans. Don't do it! Get out there and live your life. Your King is out there, you have to first get off of these disgusting money grabbing, time wasting, BS and heartless Dating Apps!

Tip for consumers:
Save yourself the time, aggravation and emotional stress and don't use Hinge to find love. Please, just trust that your person is out there for you. All you have to do is live your life! He/She will find you at the right time. Trust life, trust the Universe. Have fun and stay away from this dating app (or any dating app). I know it's hard to do in this day and age, however your sanity and well being is worth it! When it comes to dating apps, run the other way!

Hinge only works if you pay them and if you do they will ban you then run off with your money. My proof is the Better Business Bureau, the app store comments, a quick google search, and even the reviews here. This is blatant fraud and they should be sued. Minorities are also targeted and reported for having different beliefs.

Tip for consumers:
If you're going to use it, put gasoline on all your money and possessions and light it up with a match because you're going to throw your money away using this app and kill your phone battery. Goodluck though

I'm pretty sure that this app is phony. I had lots of matches on free trial. When I upgraded my membership the majority of these matches were nowhere to be found. The only ones left were complete undesirables. I recommend not wasting your money on Hinge - it's a very dodgy app. I think it's full of fake profiles and bots, otherwise I don't get it why my matches disappeared when I was lured into getting premium membership. It's bait and switch, created for membership fees. The crooks who own and run it are just preying on our money.

It's free. But the Hinge algorithm knows my preferences very well, and puts the best matches out of reach unless I pay for "roses" to communicate with them. I'm then suppose to give the closest matches "roses" which is just creepy. So I have to pay for the privilege of disturbing the most suitable women.

Free membership gives you nothing, free options don't work. But they show you plenty of matches in your city. However, they are nowhere to be found when you upgrade to premium. What a scam! Save your $ and just avoid this money pit! Don't be suckered into Hinge and other fraudulent sites which sell you an overpriced long-term membership. They have almost no real people and they are nothing but a huge time- and money-vacuum.

I have met and used the app for approximately 10 months. The data returned is not consistent. For example; if you are not interested the person it still continues to show up. The amount of likes are not based on time or number but some other algorithm. The more you use it the more they try to make you "buy". It is just a $#*! fest, you just have to match with the one who wants to $#*! you based on how you look. And thats the way it should be! I dont care how smart the dumb $#*! is even if she has a phd.

Hinge blocks genuine accounts for no reason

I made a new account with a new phone number and didn't get any matches so I emailed hinge and found out that they blocked my account. They gave me a generic cookie cutter copy and paste answer with no explanation why they blocked me.

I've been a long-time user of hinge and now I can't use it (after getting a new phone number) and I don't even get any explanation. A while back there was so many fake profiles, where I would constantly report them but it didn't stop more new fake profiles being made. But now my genuine profile is the one to be blocked. I'll be spreading my story to all my friends and warn them of how unfair hinge are to its genuine users- while at the same time allowing floods of very obviously fake accounts to be on the app.

Since hinge doesn't even make an attempt to resolve genuine users' issues or complaints, the only choice I have is to review and complain about it on every possible platform, consumer rights and third party review websites.

The hinge email response:
Hinge actively identifies behaviors that violate our Terms of Service. Your account has been permanently removed due to either or a combination of violations you've received against your account by other members, and/or our own independent determination.

As noted in our Terms of Service, "Hinge reserves the right to investigate and, if appropriate, suspend or terminate your account without a refund if you have violated these Terms, misused our Services, or behaved in a way that Hinge regards as inappropriate or unlawful, on or off our Services." To protect members' privacy, we will not disclose any further details about the reason for this ban. We understand that this policy may be frustrating but it's an important part of our efforts to keep Hinge safe.

To cancel your subscription and request a refund (if you are a paid member) to avoid any further subscription auto-renewal charges, please follow the steps on either the iTunes site or the Google Play site.

Tip for consumers:
Don't waste your time on hinge, customer service is not there to help their genuine customers.

Your preference does not matter with Hinge, they'll send you profiles that are NOT what you ask for! Very low quality dating site! They've sent me every extra large fat chick matches in Denver! So appalling! Don't waste your time with this site!

As many others on here have said…. I went to open the app and found I was banned. I'm in shock. I can't even imagine why. I looked at their terms of service and its a mile long and mentions everything under the sun! There is some funny business going on. I upgraded a couple times for a month. There are a ton of fake profiles with modeling photos of guys from Europe! They all have a similar story. I ask them to verify their identity. Maybe they kicked me off fir that. Maybe they only want people that are spending money on the app! And if that's the case, it's discriminating. I'm a well respected professional in my community as a mental health provider over 27 years! This app is shady and I sure wouldn't recommend it. I felt that way before I got banned so they did me a favor! I never got a chance to delete my profile. I bet they leave them on!

Scam alert! They will ban you off their site with no reason why and will not refund your money. They gave me a week when I paid for a month. I did not violate any terms of service, but yet I was told I was banned and kept my money. This site is a pure waste of time and I would not recommend this to anyone trying to find love.

I just took a break from OkC which has worked so well for me. I've gone out on so many dates on OkC that I got exhausted. So I decided to try Hinge. I uploaded 6 pics because it limits you to only 6 unlike other dating sites. Then you're forced to set up prompts. And you can't choose a different way to express yourself. Never mind that it's already a distorted BS. Then it only shows me "perfect images" of way too polished fraternity-type of guys. Then Hinge forces me to upgrade every second without even giving me a chance to explore it. Even Tinder is better than this degrading obnoxious app. Never again.

Beware! This is not a BBB business.

I signed up less than 2 days ago, and now I am banned for no reason. I did not lie about my identity, my age, my photos were appropriate, and I barely said two sentences to people (none of which were anything other then, "Hi, how are you?"). I appealed this, since I was incredibly confused as to what terms I "violated". They told me that they cannot even tell me the category that I violated- excuse me? I read the Terms of Agreement with a fine-toothed comb, and I did not violate a thing!

Because I was banned for "violating" their terms (and with absolutely no reason as to why), they get to keep 100% of my money. 2 days of service for $30? That is a scam! I should have read the online reviews before signing up to this fraudulent service.

Tip for consumers:
AVOID like the plague!

All major dating apps are owned by Match group which have heavily monetized and not revolutionized online dating as they claim. Hinge has a kinda decent format unfortunately filled with abandoned accounts, fake profiles and the ugliest shortest fattest weirdest baldest individuals that do not fit my preferences. As a free user I can't really use that option it's a locked feature. Hinge shoves the same hideous profiles down my throat and offers nothing else. It just seems the algorithm and messaging system don't work correctly and worst than that just aren't really many attractive or credible users to find a potential match. So it's very disappointing and I almost need therapy from the repetitive stack of goblins I have seen on there! Designed to be deleted because this app sucks and filled with atrocious dare I say "human beings".

Don't use it. The worst dishonest app. Filing a lawsuit against them. Free apps have real people. These one is bs. They force people to buy boosts. Asian man who created it just hates all women and especially white women. No wonder he had to create this app.

Tip for consumers:
Never use this fake dishonest app.

I work in the legal field and are a fairly attractive man. I can tell you right now from personal experience and meticulous observation, that they have a algorithm setup that is 98 percent fraudulent. 90 percent fake profiles, bots, 5 percent are actual prostitutes looking for work, and maybe 5 percent real women who are mostly overweight and unattractive. The prostitutes use this site to lure men outside Hinge, but label themselves as "Escorts" or "Companions" and will give you their actual hourly rate. If you report them, you will see them just in another fake profile with different photos but same person. I had this happen not once, but five different times! The WORST part of this site, is that any attractive profiles would fake photos they force you to pay for "Roses" just for the privilege to like them and send them a message, while all other ugly profiles which are consequently also mostly all fake, are free to like if you have a paid subscription. So essentially HINGE is a big pile of gigantic gartbagepile of $#*! to waste your time and money! Bro you are better off to going to some classy bars, events, and social gathering to meet real women, then settling for this dating app run by the mafia. (Think about it, only scumbags would run a business practice like this to rip people off and have their prostitutes working for them within the site! - scumbags - need to get all arrested for fraud and illegal trafficking).

Tip for consumers:
ABSOLUTELY DO NOT USE THIS SITE RUN BY THE MAFIA WHO USE PROSTITUTES AND FAKE BOTS! Consider yourself a stupid desperate gullible sucker if you think you are actually joining a dating website.

I joined Hinge a few weeks ago and paid a 6 months subscription of $ 29.99.
I was honest about my age, I'm 65, and looking for men age 60-75, that I clearly stated in my profile.
They have not sent a lot of "matches", and that was OK.
However 2 days ago they "matched" me with an 18 years old. Not only this is insulting and disgusting, but as a pediatrician I could lose my medical license if I dated someone that age.
Hinge is obviously using ONLY some strange algorithm to match people without any human insight.
I wrote to them and asked for a refund of $ 29.99. It is not the money, it is the principle.
They did not even bother to respond to me.

Do not subscribe to this app. It's a scam. They allow you like 5 matches a day so then you have to sign up, then if you sign up for a membership they take your money and ban you for no reason. Happened to me and a friend of mine. It's also full of fake profiles.

Tip for consumers:
Don't use this site and definitely don't give them money.

They generally perform moderation in such a way that promotes an agenda. I was banned without cause and because I was exercising morality in a way that was appropriately respectful. Someone had disrespected me by not giving me their undivided attention (was texting, performing chores in her house, somewhat putting me on to perform to qualify myself). Hinge likely is staffed with people who likewise saw that I specified on my profile, "not anti-Trump" and this factored into their decision. I think internet companies like this on some level are promoting hate, but at the very least are promoting an agenda in clear violation of the statutes.

Requesting congressional investigation and subpoenas, please. Consumers are tired of having media companies tell them what morality is which is a private and personal matter. Hinge purports itself to foster connection and yet clearly has zero methodology in place for resolving interpersonal conflict (nor is it clear what role it should play). For the baseline situation outside of safety matters, Hinge is clearly in violation of the statutory obligation to uphold neutral public forum requirements. This means that as a company they could be (if found to be in violation) fined or held liable. It is about time for companies like Hinge to be held liable for their mistakes that impact lives.
